How to run Desktop Gadgets properly with UAC Disabled

When UAC is disabled in Windows 7 Build 7000, Gadgets cannot be run. I know this may be an old issue but I’ve received several requests on help for getting this to work, so I thought I should post the solution.
It’s possible to have Gadgets running with UAC disabled. All you need to do is to make a small change in the registry. The quick way would be download this registry file, and double click it. You’ll need to log off and log back in or restart for changes to take effect.
You can also make the registry change manually if you want.
1) Press Windows Key + R to bring up the Registry Editor
2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionSidebarSetting
3) Double click on AllowElevatedProcess and change the value to 1
4) Log off and log back in or restart your computer for this to take effect
Now you should be able to run gadgets with UAC disabled.
